Tascam DP-01, an inexpensive 8-track personal hard disk recorder with a built-in 40 GB hard drive and a familiar, musician-friendly, analog-style work surface.

Tascam DP-01 offers a dedicated fader, pan knob, effects send knob, and a pair of EQ knobs for each of the 8 mixer channels, ensuring a minimal to nil learning curve, and a quick, immediate recording process for the inspired, or merely impatient, songwriter. The digital editing features are straightforward, practical, and logically presented for easy navigation.

The dedicated DP-01 stereo mix track may be exported via the unit’s USB 2.0 port to the computer of choice for backup or further development – there is cross-platform support for both MacOS and Windows, in several flavors of each. The digital output, on a TOSLINK optical connecter, sends the mix or individual tracks in SPDIF data format, for recording to CD and other digital media.A MIDI output is also avaiable, with MTC and MIDI Clock, for synchronizing external drum machines, sequencers, effects processors, and other MIDI gear.
